Volunteer Spotlight: Kate Moore

Kate Moore is one of LSV’s dedicated volunteer attorneys. Hailing from Buffalo, New York, she boasts an impressive background, attending College of the Holy Cross and Yale Law School and gaining early law experience clerking for Hon. Ralph K. Winter (2nd Circuit, USCA) and Justice Antonin Scalia.

Since retiring from private practice in intellectual property, commercial litigation and criminal appellate work, Kate gives her time to volunteer at our Rent Escrow Clinics. She also does separate pro bono work with Lawyers for Good Government.

Her volunteering makes a meaningful difference for low-income Vermonters, including a local medical student who was facing eviction due to a delay in the processing of their financial aid. Kate represented them at an LSV Rent Escrow Clinic and reached a favorable settlement.

Like the clients she represents at our clinics, we are grateful for Kate’s time and dedication to pro bono work.
